Meet ASH! Our massage and facial specialist ❤️

We sat down with Ash to find out a little bit more about the treatments she loves and specialises in along with more about her career in the beauty industry. Why not book yourself an appointment with Ash to meet her for yourself? 🙋‍♀️💆🏼‍♀️❤️

What was it that attracted you to the beauty industry?

I’ve always been intrigued by the beauty industry, visiting beauty salons for regular treatments myself I always loved observing and finding out more about the latest treatments. As my two daughters got older I wanted to challenge myself and retrain. I wanted to do something that I could fit in around them but also something I had a real passion for. I knew as soon as I started my training that it was the dream job for me. What would you say your Beauty specialities are? I love doing facials and massage. I would say they are my areas of expertise, something that I really research and read about. I love making clients feel relaxed, pampered and indulged. I really believe in the ‘holistic’ benefits of touch. People often work in offices and may talk to people throughout their day, but lack the benefit of touch. This is also true of people who live alone, the connection of massage is powerful and makes a difference to people’s wellbeing.

I feel a massage, or a facial is as much a necessity as having your hair done, the benefits are amazing. It’s great for your emotional well-being, mental health, posture and overall sense of self. I also feel very relaxed myself after giving facials and massages and feel this energy is carried through to the client during a treatment.

Your skin is your largest organ and needs and deserves your time, the results from regular facials are obvious. I encourage my clients to come visit regularly. Which treatment do you love doing the most? And which do you love having done? I really enjoy doing massage. I get great satisfaction making clients feel relaxed and working on areas of stress or just generally making the client feel good about themselves. Whether it’s Swedish, Pregnancy Massage or Deep Tissue. I love making sure the client leaves feeling a sense of calm, relaxed, and that the specific problem has been worked upon. I have to say it’s a close call between a deep massage or a relaxing facial, they are both my favourite treatments. What do you think you do most of at The Bothy? Since I started in November I have to say I’ve done a mixture of Nails, Waxing, Facials and Massage. I love building a relationship with my regular clients and feeling like I’m helping them achieve their goals. Whether its help combat pigmentation in a facial, working on high tension areas in a massage or getting their nails back to full health. What do you love about The Bothy? The Bothy is a very relaxing environment, the moment you walk in the door you feel your tense shoulders drop and relax and the aromatherapy oil we diffuse into the air enhances the calm and quietness, making a huge impact, especially compared to the busy world outside. All the team are lovely, caring, supportive and great all-round women. I travel from Malton but I love my job , love whom I work with and all the lovely clients I’ve met, so it’s all worth it.
